March 2015 e-news –
Spring is Coming – What Seeds are YOU Planting?

As the days grow longer, my news feed is full of bleating, bahh-ing and mooing as new arrivals on farms near and far renew the annual agricultural cycle. I see many beautiful cheeses on the horizon.

Cheesemakers: what are you cooking up these days? Do you have a new cheese on the way? Are you scaling up production this year? Reply to this e-mail and let me know what you are creating – I’d love to hear.

Cheese Road Trip

February was another busy month of travel and connection in the cheese world. I created a series of photos for a trio of California cheesemakers while at the 12th Annual Sonoma Valley Cheese Conference. Here are three favorites from the shoot.

Find links to image galleries and slideshows of the cheeses in this blog post recapping this informative and engaging conference that brings together some of my favorite people in the cheese world.

Challenging Cheese

As luck would have it, two of the three cheeses were of the white, fresh and rindless variety. These cheeses are among the most challenging to capture.

It was great fun working with my friend and guest-monger, Emiliano Lee. He did a great job with the cheeses, especially those quenelles of Delice de la Vallee, a request of the cheesemaker and festival organizer, Sheana Davis.
